Tampa, FL
Fireworks went off and a crowd of 10,000 fans go spastic as "Hand Of Blood" by Bullet For My Valentine played and the show began.
[Voiceover] "Tonight, live on Pay-Per-View, American Championship Entertainment proudly brings to you TITLE WAVE where we will crown the first American Heavyweight Champion, American Tag Team Champions and American Female Champion! Without further delay, we now go to the ring for our opening contest..."
Bucky Talbot w/Sandy Horseshoe vs. Dios
Time Limit: 10:00 • Referee: Jason Charles
Before this match could even begin, Mr. Canada came out to interrupt. The crowd booed profusely. He spoke in the center of the ring:
[MR. CANADA] "You two curtain-jerkers do not deserve to be in the same ring as me but, whatever. I am out here to introduce myself...I am not only Mr. Canada...I am Canada!" (the crowd boos) "The mask I wear represents all 35 million citizens of the greatest country on earth!" (the crowd boos louder and Mr. Canada looks toward Dios) "While your mask represents 30 million pieces of Peruvian trash!" (the crowd boos profusely)
Dios reacted immediately by diving onto Mr. Canada with a bodypress. The crowd cheered. Talbot and Horseshoe stood back and watched as Dios and Canada brawled around the squared circle. ACE officials came to the ring and separated the mess, escorting Mr. Canada back to the locker room. Fans pelt the masked Canadian with garbage on his way to the back.
Back in the ring, Talbot attacked Dios from behind to officially start the match. The corn-fed hillbilly used his farm power to abuse the masked Peruvian for the first few minutes. At times, Talbot looked to Horseshoe (who may or may not have been tweaking at the time) for guidance. Unfortunately, she was usually harassing ringside fans. At the 4:11 mark of the match, Talbot had Dios in a bear hug. A sweating Dios had the crowd behind him which helped fuel him to be able to head butt his way out of the hold. Talbot went for a clothesline but Dios ducked and superkicked the hay-eater to the mat. While Talbot barely got back up to his feet, Dios raised his hands in the air to play to the fans. The crowd rose to its feet as Dios springboarded onto the top rope and hit the amazing Oh Dios Mio! on Talbot for the win.
RESULT: Dios def. Bucky Talbot (5:20)
Dios celebrated with the crowd afterward, who immediately fell in love with the guy.
Backstage, Valerie caught up with the Danteourage (Dante Monaco, Dorian Morcello, Green Lantern Fan and Scarth).
[VALERIE] "With your group making up two of the four teams competing in the American Tag Team Championship Gauntlet tonight, there is a 50% chance that the Danteourage will walk out of this building carrying tag team gold tonight."
[DANTE] "Thanks for the math lesson, Valerie, but we feel there is a 100% chance that the Danteourage is coming home with gold tonight!"
[VALERIE] "Which team do you feel has the best chance?"
[DANTE] (looking at Dorian) "Well, me and DoMo are the best looking and most talented so that is a stupid question." (Green Lantern Fan and Scarth look at one another awkwardly, prompting Dante to stare back at them) "You two calm down. You're both damn lucky I even let you ride my coattails."
[VALERIE] "So, Dante, would you say there are team orders here?"
[DORIAN] (interrupts) "Team orders? Lady, shut your mouth and admire..." (lifts up his tank top to display abs)
Valerie rolled her eyes and walked away, thus ending the interview.
A promo for ACE Across America, the weekly show every Wednesday night, aired.
American Tag Team Championship Gauntlet
Jersey Assassins (#1 & #2) w/The Iron Maiden vs. Danteourage (Scarth & Green Lantern Fan)
Time Limit: 10:00 • Referee: Bernard LaChance
Scarth and GLF waited impatiently in the ring for quite sometime before the lights went out and "Millennium" began playing and The Iron Maiden came out with the Jersey Assassins storming past her and into the ring. The crowd roared.
The bell sounded immediately as #1 and #2 annihilated the two Danteourage members. Referee LaChance had trouble gaining any control of the match until the JA took Scarth apart with the Welcome To The Garden State, Motherfucker tag team combination for the quick win.
RESULT: Jersey Assassins def. Danteourage (0:53)
The JA threw Scarth and GLF out of the ring and waited in anticipation of their next opponents.
American Tag Team Championship Gauntlet
Jersey Assassins (#1 & #2) w/The Iron Maiden vs. Hair Metal (Christian Melrose & Irwin Steele)
Time Limit: 10:00 • Referee: Bernard LaChance
Steele and Melrose spent a bit of time interacting with fans on the way to the ring, causing the JA to grow impatient and go outside the ring to begin the fight. Many fans booed this.
JA dragged Melrose and Steele into the ring and the bell sounded to begin the match. Steele and #2 squared off on one side of the ring, while Melrose and #1 battled on the other. It ended quickly when Melrose attempted to climb the ropes for some type of maneuver but failed miserably and succumbed to WTTGS,MF finisher.
RESULT: Jersey Assassins def. Hair Metal (1:30)
Melrose and Steele were tossed out of the ring onto Scarth and GLF. A losers junkyard. JA stared at the entrance and waited for the final tag team in the gauntlet to arrive.
American Tag Team Championship Gauntlet
Jersey Assassins (#1 & #2) w/The Iron Maiden vs. Danteourage (Dante Monaco & Dorian Morcello)
Time Limit: None • Referee: Bernard LaChance
Finally, "Get Crazy" played and the crowd booed. The JA waited for Dante Monaco and Dorian Morcello to arrive. Unfortunately, Monaco and Morcello came out of the crowd in the opposite direction and attacked the JA from behind. The crowd went crazy.
The bell sounded as Monaco and Morcello laid into the JA with kicks and punches. After a bit, the first actual tag team match started taking place when Morcello and JA #2 took their spots outside on the ring apron while Monaco and #1 were the legal men. Monaco and Morcello took turns working on #1 but were unable to take him off his feet. At 5:17, a double dropkick missed #1 and he was able to tag in #2 for a huge crowd pop. #2 bum rushed Monaco and Morcello, knocking them both out of the ring. The crowd was on their feet as #2 followed them outside of the ring and took both men on at once. Inside the ring, #1 attempted to help his teammate but referee LaChance was holding him back. Scarth and GLF were still at ringside and had cleared the cobwebs out enough to make it a four-on-one behind referee LaChance's back. All four members of the Danteourage got the better of #2. Scarth and GLF held #2 while Monaco and Morcello delivered superkicks to the face of #2, knocking him to the ground. Just as referee LaChance began looking toward them again, Scarth and GLF had disappeared into the crowd. Monaco and Morcello (the legal man) rolled #2 into the ring. While Monaco brawled with #1, Morcello springboarded onto the top rope and hit the DoMotion onto #2 for the win. The crowd booed.
RESULT: Danteourage def. Jersey Assassins (7:10)
All four members of the Danteourage celebrated with the championship belts outside of the ring and back to the locker room as the crowd booed. A frustrated #1 kicked the ropes before going after referee LaChance, chasing him out of the ring. Valerie attempted to get an interview with the Danteourage but they blew her off. She went to the ringside and attempted to interview Jersey Assassins manager The Iron Maiden regarding the loss. Maiden stole the mic and looked into the camera.
[MAIDEN] "YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST OF THE ASSASSINS, DANTEOURAGE. YOU BETTER RUN BECAUSE YOU CAN NEVER HIDE..."
Maiden slammed the mic down.
Back in the parking lot, a camera caught a prison bus dropping off wrestler/prisoner Sarahcuda (allowed to wrestle for her job but still considered a prisoner). Her hands and legs are bound by chains. Further back in the parking lot, the camera captures John Capone exiting a sports car and throwing up a middle finger at the camera before walking up to it and speaking.
[CAPONE] "Tonight is the night when the men surpass the boys and one man surpasses all men...John fucking Capone. End of story."
American Female Championship Gauntlet
Mother Mary vs. Lindsey Fontaine
Time Limit: 10:00 • Referee: Jason Charles
Mary was booed for wasting so much time praying and taking off her nun garb. Fontaine attempted to catch her by surprise with a dropkick to start the match but Mary moved out of the way and quickly hit the Holy Roller to win.
RESULT: Mother Mary def. Lindsey Fontaine (0:21)
The crowd booed Mary, who celebrated with prayer while Natasha Malone came to the ring (receiving a positive reaction) and slapped hands with fans. Fontaine was helped to the back by ACE officials.
American Female Championship Gauntlet
Mother Mary vs. Natasha Malone
Time Limit: 10:00 • Referee: Jason Charles
Malone and Mary battled evenly for a few minutes before Mary got the upper hand with a leg sweep and elbow smash sequence. Unfortunately, Mary got cocky and paraded around the ring preaching the Catholic word. This gave Malone time to get up and meet Mary with a kick to the face, which pleased the crowd. Malone covered but Mary kicked out. Malone suplexed Mary and followed with the Natty By Nature for the win.
RESULT: Natasha Malone def. Mother Mary (5:02)
Malone went into the crowd to celebrate a bit afterward before getting serious again. She threw Mary out of the ring and waited for the final gauntlet participant, Sarahcuda, who was escorted to the ring in chains by two police officers. The crowd was in shock as Sarahcuda was unchained.
American Female Championship Gauntlet
Natasha Malone vs. Sarahcuda w/police officers
Time Limit: None • Referee: Jason Charles
Sarahcuda darted under the bottom rope and was met with a kick to the face by Malone that had no effect. The bell sounded to officially start the match. Sarahcuda pulled Malone down and beat the hell out of her face, bloodying it tremendously. As if she was taking out rage from all her time in prison, Sarahcuda pummeled Malone until it was apparent she could no longer compete. Referee Charles ended the match.
RESULT: Sarahcuda def. Natasha Malone (1:30)
Charles handed the belt to Sarahcuda and the crowd booed and ooohed. The two police guards immediately put the chains back on Sarah and escorted her and the American Female Championship belt to the back.
Christian Melrose and Irwin Steele (Hair Metal) came to the ring to assist ACE medical staff with Malone.
Backstage, Valerie interviewed one of the contenders in the American Heavyweight Championship Gauntlet, Mike Harvey.
[VALERIE] "Mike, this is what it all comes down to...the big one...the American Heavyweight Championship. You are in the opening match, how are you going to beat three men and take that title?"
[HARVEY] "Valerie..."
Benjamin Hammer came from the right and interrupted.
[HAMMER] "Valerie, don't listen to this hick. Tonight, I will be standing in the center of that ring with the title wrapped around my waist."
Harvey got in the face of Hammer.
[HARVEY] "Is that so?"
Hammer shoved Harvey, Harvey shoved back and both started trading punches before ACE officials quickly broke it up and sent Harvey to the ring.
American Heavyweight Championship Gauntlet
Mr. Canada vs. Mike Harvey
Time Limit: 10:00 • Referee: Bernard LaChance
Canada was booed profusely throughout the contest, rising every time Harvey struck him and booing every time he struck Harvey. Harvey gained an advantage when he blocked an uppercut, elbowed Canada into the corner and dropkicked him over the top rope. Both men brawled outside of the ring until referee LaChance began counting them out. Back in the ring, Canada used an eye gouge to turn the tide and work over Harvey a bit. At the 5:40 mark, Dios came from the locker room (the crowd roared) and taunted Canada from ringside. Canada took the bait and started to go after Dios but Harvey pulled Canada back and dropped him with a DDT. The crowd rose to their feet as Harvey made a cover but Canada kicked out at the last second. Harvey slowly stood up and dragged Canada to his knees and went for a basement dropkick but Canada moved. Canada went for the Maple Leaf Blower but Harvey escaped and put Canada in the Southern Justice. Canada, now facing Dios (still taunting), held on for as long as he could before finally tapping out.
RESULT: Mike Harvey def. Mr. Canada (7:01)
The crowd cheered as Harvey held onto the hold a little bit more before breaking it. Dios pulled Canada out of the ring and brawled with him to the back.
Benjamin Hammer came out immediately to start the next match, giving Harvey no time to rest.
American Heavyweight Championship Gauntlet
Mike Harvey vs. Benjamin Hammer
Time Limit: 10:00 • Referee: Bernard LaChance
Hammer and Harvey went at it fiercely to begin the match. The fresher Hammer took Harvey down early and began wearing him down. Hammer threw Harvey outside of the ring and choked him against the top of the guard rail. Hammer took the beer from a fan at ringside and took a sip before pouring the contents all over Harvey. Hammer dragged Harvey back inside the ring and worked him over more before sitting Harvey on the top rope, going to the opposite side of the ring and attempting a running dropkick to knock Harvey off. Unfortunately for Hammer, Harvey moved at the last minute and Hammer crotched himself hard on the top rope. The crowd laughed and roared, feeding Harvey's adrenaline. Harvey delivered a series of punches to Hammer before a slingshot snap suplex that led to a 2 count before Hammer kicked away. Harvey followed by sending Hammer into the ropes and going for a lariat but Hammer ducked and jumped on the back of Harvey with a sleeperhold. Harvey escaped with a chinbreaker and slapped the Southern Justice on Hammer, who tapped out quickly to end the match.
RESULT: Mike Harvey def. Benjamin Hammer (5:33)
A clearly worn-out Harvey was cheered loudly once again, quickly becoming a fan favorite.
After Hammer was helped to the back, John Capone came out and walked slowly (annoying the fans) to the ring. Capone kept his eyes focused on Harvey the entire time. Capone grabbed a mic before entering the ring, circling it while he spoke.
[CAPONE] "Well, well, well. It has come down to this. The match where the inaugural American Heavyweight Champion is crowned. Two American men. One, a godlike Chicago stallion..." (crowd boos) "...the other, an inbred Tennessee cowboy." (crowd boos)
The crowd lit up as Harvey exited the ring and charged after Capone, who dropped the mic. Capone hopped over the guard rail and Harvey followed, chasing the Chicago native and catching him around the third or fourth aisle. The crowd cheered and Harvey pulled Capone by his hair and dragged him back over the guard rail and into the ring.
American Heavyweight Championship Gauntlet
Mike Harvey vs. John Capone
Time Limit: None • Referee: Bernard LaChance
Harvey ripped off the jacket of Capone as the bell sounded and pummeled him a bit. He went for the Southern Justice on Capone early but Capone broke away and climbed out of the ring toward the locker room. The crowd booed. Harvey went after Capone and pulled him by the hair down to the arena floor. Harvey power bombed Capone into the guard rail, slicing up the back of Capone's head. Referee LaChance helped bring the match back inside the ring, where Harvey continued to dominate. At the 5:02 point in the contest, Capone was bleeding from the back of his head so badly that LaChance stopped the match to check on him. The crowd booed this. Harvey refused to let this happen, pushing LaChance away and attempting to take a swing at Capone but Capone ducked and back flipped Harvey over the top rope and out of the ring. LaChance went to check on Capone again and Capone brushed him off and flew over the top rope onto Harvey outside of the ring. The crowd rose to its feet as Capone and Harvey brawled around the ring, with Capone winning that battle and throwing Harvey back into the squared circle. Most were cheering on Harvey but some applauded the comeback by Capone, who locked Harvey into a Boston Crab at the 6:50 mark. With the crowd fueling him once again, Harvey managed to reach the ropes. Capone broke the hold, picked Harvey up off the mat and went for a suplex but Harvey reversed it into a brainbuster, which popped the crowd, and followed by locking in the Southern Justice. The crowd roared, sensing the end. Amazingly, Capone was able to use his free arm to poke the eyes of Harvey and force a break. A bloody Capone stood up and attempted to bulldog Harvey but Harvey was able to stop it and prepared to suplex Capone but (while the referee stood behind Harvey), Capone used the top rope as leverage and pull a steel object out of his trunks which he used to pound into the face of Harvey and knock him backward to the mat with Capone on top. The referee did not see this. Capone covered an unconscious Harvey for the 1-2-3. The crowd booed profusely.
RESULT: John Capone def. Mike Harvey (8:12)
A bloody Capone was pelted with garbage as he held the title high in the air and rolled out of the ring. Valerie ran out to interview him afterward.
[VALERIE] "John, John...what do you have to say after the way you won that match?"
[CAPONE] (panting) "Win...at...all...costs...this title will not leave me! THIS TITLE WILL NEVER LEAVE ME!"
